Summary
The in-situ GC/MS GhOST-MS will measure a wide suite of about 20 chemical tracers with different lifetimes which can provide information on transport on different timescales. For the halocarbons (e.g. CFCs, Halons, CH3Br, CH2Br etc.) the temporal resolution will be between 3 and 4 minutes, while SF6 and CFC-12 will be measured with a temporal resolution on the order of 1 minute. N2O measurements at 1 min. time resolution are not implemented for the time being and can not be guarantied. The instrument will be part of the HALO Missions TACTS and Polstracc and has already been certified for the Falcon aircraft.
