- Summary
- The Ion Trap Chemical Ionization Mass Spectrometer ITCIMS will be operated with CO3-reagent ions that react selectively with the trace gas molecules of interest in a flow reactor. The abundance of the trace gases to be measured is determined by the detected ratio of reagent and product ions by the ion trap mass spectrometer. For CIRRUS-RS we will concentrate on the measurements of HNO3, SO2 and PAN with a temporal resolution of 2s. We will use a subisokinetic forward-facing inlet in order to be able to measure particle-phase HNO3 in cirrus.
