The measurements of nadir radiance scattered by clouds are identical to measurements by spaceborne instruments and able to detect sub-visible cirrus. Further measurements of spectral irradiance will be applied to estimate the relevance of these optically thin clouds to the Earth's solar and terrestrial radiative energy budget.
